Each Saturday, <a href=\"http:\/\/donny-b.deviantart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Donny B<\/a> will be showcasing various offerings from Art Asylum&#8217;s take on the &#8216;block figure&#8217;, with a weekly spotlight on <em><strong>Minimates<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Art Asylum has built their Minimates line primarily using\u00a0comic book\u00a0characters.\u00a0However, they have dipped into many other licenses over the years, from movies to musicians to video games. Back in 2006, a Street\u00a0Fighter 2 line\u00a0was released, lasting only\u00a01 wave\u00a0due to poor sales.\u00a0As a\u00a0result,\u00a0many core characters were never produced, but among the\u00a0few that we were given: M. Bison,\u00a0Ryu\u00a0&amp; Chun-Li<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1929\" src=\"http:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Minimates_2010_08-28.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Minimates_2010_08-28.jpg 598w, https:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Minimates_2010_08-28-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Behind the Image:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a child of the late 80&#8217;s\/early 90&#8217;s. I grew up playing Street Fighter 2 on Super Nintendo\u00a0&#8211; that was my bread and butter when it came to this particular series. So to honor my own history with this game franchise, I pulled out the original SNES version of Street Fighter 2 and paused it on the M. Bison, Ryu &amp; Chun-Li\u00a0stages. I positioned the figures in front of the screen, and viola: each character in thier native habitats.
