Each Saturday, <a href=\"http:\/\/donny-b.deviantart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Donny B<\/a> will be showcasing various offerings from Art Asylum&#8217;s take on the &#8216;block figure&#8217;, with a weekly spotlight on <em><strong>Minimates<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Amidst the vast roster of characters in the Green Lantern Corps, <strong>Kilowog<\/strong> stands out as one of the most memorable non-human ring bearers. Known for his more rough-and-tumble approach, Kilowog made a name for himself as the foremost trainer of new GL recruits, often referring to them with the somewhat endearing term &#8220;poozers&#8221; (meaning <em>useless rookies<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Kilowog is a bigger character in the comics, so\u00a0when Art Asylum released his\u00a0Minimate (from the second DC series), they utilized a 2.5&#8243; body and a (<em>retro-comparatively<\/em> modest) big chest piece to compliment his stature.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #404040\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Minimates_2011_03-12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2233\" src=\"http:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Minimates_2011_03-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"486\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Minimates_2011_03-12.jpg 600w, https:\/\/cyberspacecomics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Minimates_2011_03-12-300x243.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #404040\"><strong>Behind the Image:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This was a simple photoshop project. I had set Kilowog in front of a green backdrop and lit him with a green light for tones\/highlights and couple traditional white lights to overpower the general green tint and draw out the\u00a0natural color scheme\u00a0of the &#8216;mate itself.
