After looking at hundreds of comic book covers, it becomes quickly apparent that not every cover is 100% original. Whether done intentionally or even underhandedly, there’s something about uncovering these “swipes” that adds a new element of fun to reading and collecting comics.<\/font><\/p>\n

The rematch between Guy Gardner <\/strong>and Superman <\/strong>is a direct swipe of their first battle. Although, it should be mentioned that the first battle (in #688) was between Guy and the Eradicator <\/strong>(who was posing as Superman). At that time, Superman was “dead” but don’t you worry! He came back … with a mullet.<\/p>\n
