After looking at hundreds of comic book covers, it becomes quickly apparent that not every cover is 100% original. Whether done intentionally or even underhandedly, there’s something about uncovering these “swipes” that adds a new element of fun to reading and collecting comics.<\/font><\/p>\n

Many comic book conventions have informative program guides to let you know what’s going on there. And, oftentimes, larger conventions will hire professional comics artist to provide new artwork for the guide’s cover (and sometimes interiors). In this case, the Mid Ohio Con got John Byrne<\/a> to draw a large group of Marvel super-heroes … and then got Chris Giarrusso<\/a> to swipe the image in his very own ‘Mini-Marvels’ style.<\/p>\n
