Famous Fanmail #11 Kurt Busiek

Filed under: Famous Fanmail — Doorman @ 8:07 am

You may not be surprised to learn that most people in the comic business grew up reading comic books. However, you might be interested in knowing what they were reading. Here’s a look at “Famous Fanmail”!

Kurt Busiek‘s writing credits are quite extensive but he’s probably most well-known for his interesting look back through Marvel’s continuity in Marvels as well as his creator-owned titled Astro City. He’s also had significant runs on the Avengers and Thunderbolts that are still well-regarded today. Prior to hitting it big in the comics industry, he was following the Champions (among many other books, I’m sure) and got a letter printed in the Champions #12 (cover date – March 1977).

  1. Ghost Rider “uninteresting”?? For shame, Mr. Busiek!

  2. heh. well, honestly, the Rider was barely seen in this series … and, he was basically reduced to a background character even when he was there. So, while Ghost Rider may not be “uninteresting” as a character (and I’m sure most people would agree. in fact, he’s the best-selling of the team’s members. he’s had well over 200 issues if you total up all his solo titles through the years) he was kind of underused in this team’s book.
