I started selling comics full-time in 2010 and wanted to track my progress against the online back issue markets. Here’s a look at the current comics aftermarket and my progress in achieving my goal of becoming a prominent back issue dealer.

eBay‘s number of listings continues to hit all-new highs. Much of this increase is due to MHC trying to crowd the market. They’ve made multiple listings for the same book in the same grade at different prices. Unfortunately for them, this spike in sales has resulted in a lot of negative feedback. It also generates a lot more listing fees. I wonder how long they’ll continue this practice.
Atomic Avenue: This marketplace stands in sharp contrast to eBay. While eBay’s listings have grown by 67% in the past five years, Atomic Avenue’s has shrunk by more than 9%.
Comic Collector Live: This is another sharp contract to eBay. CCL’s number of stores has dropped to 63. This is down from 101 stores in May 2016.
HipComic‘s number of listings have plateaud.
Bonanza‘s number of listings have plateaud, as well.
