He’s also been the producer on TV shows like No Ordinary Family, Eli Stone, Flash Forward, Brothers & Sisters, C.S.I.: Miami, and more. He got a letter was printed in Thor #369 (cover date – July 1986), featuring his reaction to the Frog-Thor storyline.

More than 25 years after it began, Walter Simonson’s run on Thor continues to be heralded as one of (if not the most) significant take on the character. Even Stan Lee, the co-creator of Thor (the Marvel version, naturally), wrote in with praise. His letter was printed in Thor #347 (cover date – September 1984) and was followed up with an interesting story from Simonson.

Kyle Baker‘s fast and loose art has been featured in dozens of titles over the past 25 years. He’s illustrated Plastic Man, Deadpool, Batman, the Spirit and many others. And, as a writer, he’s created works that include the Cowboy Wally Show, King David, and Why I Hate Saturn. He got a letter printed in Thor #336 (cover date – October 1983) wherein he praised both the writing and the art – makes sense, since he now does both profesionally.

Terry Collins‘ comics career has remained outside the mainstream super-heroes world for years. Although, not too far outside mainstream. He’s worked on plenty of high-profile indy books including Elfquest, Doc Savage, the Tick, Lost in Space and more. With his indy work in mind, it’s no surprise that he got a letter printed in Thor #323 (cover date – September 1982) applauding characterization over action.

Leinil Francis Yu has been the artist on some high-profile work including Secret Invasion, Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk, and Ultimate Comics: Avengers 2. In his early 20s, he was following a very unique title from DC Comics. He got his letter printed in Challengers of the Unknown #11 (cover date – December 1997) just as his career was beginning at Marvel with his run on Wolverine.

Kurt Busiek wrote one of the coolest, most continuity-heavy epics ever: Avengers Forever. Here he is praising Roy Thomas‘ run on Thor, in his letter printed in Thor #287 (cover date – September 1979). The funny thing is he refers to Conan as a boring barian, in this letter. 25 years later (in 2004), Busiek went on to write a very successful Conan relaunch, published by Dark Horse Comics.

Dennis Mallonee is one of the main driving forces behind Heroic Publishing. He’s written for almost all of their titles the Champions, Eternity Smith and Flare. Years before his professional comics career began, he got a letter printed in Thor #283 (cover date – May 1979) chastising Marvel’s decision to include the Eternals in the mainstream Marvel Universe.
