I started selling comics full-time in 2010 and wanted to track my progress against the online back issue markets. Here’s a look at the current comics aftermarket and my progress in achieving my goal of becoming a prominent back issue dealer.

eBay‘s number of listings has again reached an all-new high. I was able to access their “sold listings” information at a Category level again so we now have updates in that section. The percentage sold hasn’t changed month in the past year but it dropped by 50% over the past 5 years.
Atomic Avenue: Their number of listings growth over the past year is flat.
Comic Collector Live: The resurgence of CCL has subsided. Their number of stores and listings are nearly flat over the past year.
HipComic: This marketplace’s number of listings has grown by over 300% in just five years but the past year is down nearly 10%. In that same time period, they lost 20% of their stores. Something of interest here is that HipComic has created an eBay selling account on October 29, 2024, that is beginning to mirror listings from the HipComic user “Mark”. They currently have 44,000 listings on eBay.
YouSellComics: This is a marketplace that has caught my eye so we’ve added our inventory to their marketplace. Their number of listings growth over the past year is flat.
